New osteo drug in the works
Hi all, I just learned that Novartis has the option to obtain an exclusive worldwide license to developed BA058, Radius' osteo drug candidate. B A058 is an analog of hPTHrP currently in Phase 2 development. It sounds a bit like Forteo, doesn't it?
It has the potential to address "important unmet needs for osteoporosis patients in the near future," and is called an "exciting bone anabolic agent " It is called a parathyroid hormone related protein, and a "critical peptide" for promoting new bone formation.
Let's hope it can work without bad side effects and won't be beyond reach price-wise.
