fosomax and hives - Osteoporosis Message Board

My mom has been experiencing hives for the past month - wondering if anyone else on fosomax has experienced this - also have had some rib pain

I did not have hives or anything like that but did have the rib pain. Started out just a little and by the time I stopped that week had severe rib pain - one evening did not think I was going to make it home driving it was so bad. I also have fibromyalgia and think the fosamax just made things worse.

I have the printout from the Pharmacy which gives "Possible Side Effects" for Fosamax and it says:

An allergic reaction to this medicine is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include rash, itching, swelling, dizziness or trouble breathing.

I believe hives could fall into this category because they can be triggered by medication.
