Dr D'Adamo clinic (Eat Right For Your Boodtype and Genotype books)
Well - I did it!!! I just made the two appointments to go to the D'Adamo Clinic in CT. It will be expensive and a very long drive for one hour - and then again for an hour with The Doc a few weeks later. I've been reading through the books <removed>, and he is the first one to really, and holistically make sense of all of my issues. I've got to do something and since I react to so many foods and substances - and refuse the biphosphonates - at the least I'll learn more about what is going on with me.
After talking with my doctor it seemed that even she did not think the Osteoporosis Clinic in Burlington could help me. This guy is brilliant and highly respected, and once a plan is figured out, my own local naturopath (who went to the same college as he did) can help me.
Has anyone ever been to his clinic or live near there?

Podiecat - hope you get some answers! I am researching the ph diet right now. I just read that some use both the ph and bodytype to get great results. Do let us know what you learn. Have you tried the ph diet? In acid conditions, calcium from the bone is used to help balance levels in body. <removed>

Re: Dr D'Adamo clinic (Eat Right For Your Boodtype and Genotype books)
Hi Sierrawalker,
I really needed to find someone who could look at my whole very complex picture. It's like - does the egg come before the chick, or the chick before the egg. <removed> it finally became clear that I needed to go to his clinic because his research is so very holistic and brilliant.
I can't know how I can help my bones, my gut, my adrenals, my spirit, etc, until I go to a brilliant someone who not only realizes that my left pinky is connected to my right knee - but has a very deep understanding of the connections. Until I'm able to absorb calcium and the other nutrients properly, I can't take strontium. The systemic mastocytosis is extremely complicated and most people who have it take huge amounts of band-aid meds. After being on them for years, there are no bigger guns left.
Because of my history I know that I'm extremely sensitive to most foods and don't absorb what I need. What I've read about his work has already been proven to a small degree by what I'm able to eat and what I can't tolerate - and what makes me feel worse. I've mentioned that I've been going through severe biological depression since my first menopausal night drench. That is probably causing more bone loss than anything. If my gut is not working as it should, then neurotransmitters and everything else will not function as they should.
I was really relieved to get a reply from my doctor after I emailed her to tell her what my plans were and ask for test results to be sent to me as soon as possible. She said that she had wanted to read more of his work and that she knew he was brilliant and not a quack. She really supported me - What a shock!!!
All I know is that conventional options are not the answer. I'm not expecting a miracle but I know I will learn more about myself and how to begin getting balanced. One really great thing is that they will work with my naturopath and doctor once they come up with a plan. I have been desperate for that kind of support!!!
So that's the scoop......
And yes, I will let you know how it goes.
Take care and thanks for all of your kind, supportive words....

Oh - about PH...
Yes it's very important. Have you dipped ph strips in your first morning pee? That is the first step and very easy. When I've checked mine, it's been alkaline!
The more red meat, soda, coffee, sweets, etc you consume will usually make you more acid.

PS - we have four feet of snow on the ground and it's supposed to keep snowing through next week!!!!! I'm definitely feeling old and cranky.

Thanks for your input Podiecat,
Yes, I started testing my uring & I'm very acidic. VERY! So, for me I will research this & make changes in my diet first. My level stays acidic throughout the day, so I have to research this. I know the calcium can not absorb in such acidic conditions. Maybe this can help my body to heal, I have been so tired lately also. Thought it was stress but maybe it's my body so out of balance.
You are so right about doctors, every specialist only looks at one area. Our bodies were not made this way, it is very frustrating. The clinic sounds like it can hold many answers for you! I do think there is a huge connection with your gut as you say. Hopefully now will get the help you deserve, do keep us posted.
I apprecaite your kind words & suggestions as well...
