I think alot of us here know to be careful about vit A and not getting too much. I saw my new Bone Specialist this week YIPEEEE-(ok,I will now settle down) one of the things she wanted to test was my Vit A level.
I knew to watch this with my multi, she said she had alot of patients who are taking fish oil and getting too high levels of vit A.
When I came home, I checked my fish oil, and it is made with herring and anchovies-no cod. I checked with the co--no vit A.I take this fish oil in liquid form and surprisingly it is not yucky.It is OK.
In their cod liver products there is vit A-naturally occuring.
So-check your fish oils.
Also I know some people use fish oil for their vit d and if it is cod liver oil-well, you could have the same issue.
Another test she did was 24hr. urine-cortisol. I have been under stress big time with fluctuating thyroid levels for 12 months, so she checked this. I asked my endo to check this a week ago, with the idea of stress/cortisol being harmful to bones but she didn't think testing was necessary.She said I could go to a naturopath , the cortisol and adrenal thing is big with naturopaths .I thought it was a strange response. It is HARD to understand doctors and their reasoning sometimes!!I guess if you knock at one door and no one answers , you need to go to the next.

ps-if you are interested in the Vit A info a a quick check on the net reveals some very interesting info about beta carotene and the retinol forms of vit A that you should look at. Getting 100% of the rec. vit A from retinol, in its various forms, may in fact not be good. So, if concerned with this check it out-it gets a little more complicated but not too complicated for those trying to maintain their bones.
