Ok, here is another problem that may be associated with taking Fosamx. I have been having problems with my retinas for over a year. Have to see another opthamologist in June for another complete exam. I just read an article stating that Fosamax could cause retina problems. Hmmmmmmmm.

I've been off it for a year and a half but here's the half life effect. It's in our systems for 10 years doing its thing. Anyone else having eye problems?

I just got the results of my dexa and the numbers are down again. I am doing everything they tell me to build bone and no results. But even with these results I will not take any of the drugs on the market today for osteoporosis. This is my last Dexa.

I have lost 6 lbs in the last year and my weight is 126. Last year my dexa stayed the same and I was 132lbs. I feel my weight is directly involved in losing bone. All the literature I read says being under 128 lbs can make the osteo worse. So I will eat my way back up to 132. Gee. Where do I start!?

Anyway, I 'm putting together a fact sheet for when I see my Endo. I know she is going to try to put me on something. My osteo is hereditary and I've never had a Fx. I am not going to put myself at risk of side effects just not to have a hip Fx at 80.

I eat well, take supplements, don't drink soda, exercise 5 days a week and read up on all the treatments available and their side effects. It's what you have to do to be informed.
