Hi Taape: I was just thinking about you as well, and hope you get good results from the dxa and new Endo.
I still haven't been able to confirm that info on Forteo's extended use, so I don't know what to think about the comment I got from another poster. Apparently her Dr went to a bone symposium and they discussed this option there. She doesn't know the name of the lecture or the society that held it, and I've scoured the Net looking for something on it. I'll ask my Dr tomorrow if she's heard anything. I suppose this Dr could have been referring to the intermittent dosage of Forteo and there was some communication breakdown, but I don't know that for sure either. This person claims that continuing beyond the 24 mos will be a possibility in the near future, so I don't know what to make of it.
I hope the above is correct, but I wondered if you can get a Dr that is amenable to the idea, and your insurance will pay for it, do you think they would consider it? Since Forteo has a black box warning I don't think you can sue Lily for any problems (if you had any) from extended use, so if you are willing to go for it, will they let you since they are protected from law suits anyway. Don't quote me on this legal issue, but I think that's how a black box warning works, it's been awhile since I was in the legal field.
I'll let you know what I find out from my Dr tomorrow.
Take Care... and the best of luck!!!
