Hi Taape: I'm so sorry about your t-scores, it must be hard to hear that and not know what to do.
I asked my Dr about continuing on Forteo and she said No. In my case I can't because my hypercalcemia has gotten worse by affecting my heart negatively.
I also asked if she knew of anyone who went beyond the 24 months, and she said no and she wasn't aware of any recent bone symposium that said otherwise.
I also asked her about Denosumab, and she didn't seem to be too excited about that either, and mentioned that it hadn't been approved yet, and she doesn't know if it will be. According to her monoclonal antibodies can cause anaphylactic shock, which isn't something I've ever heard of with the trials on Denosumab. Remember these are *her* opinions, and she could be wrong.
I'm starting on Evista, when I finish Forteo, have you considered that? It's not a hormone, and it's suppose to *help* prevent breast cancer, in some people. Like anything else it has side effects, and it doesn't work as fast as Forteo or the bisphos's.
Maybe there is a Dr out there that will rx the Forteo longer, I just can't find one. I sure hope you can find something soon, it seems like you've been dealing with this forever
