Does boniva cause cancer

Hi sophie,
I've recently heard that long-term Fosamax use might be associated with an increased risk of esophageal cancer. I haven't heard the same about Boniva but it sounds to me like it's a similar kind of med - you have to sit up for 30 min or so after you take it so it doesn't cause esophageal irritation - so Boniva could have a similar risk..

I don't know either but I do know that the GI/stomach irritation can happen even if you follow the directions and sit up for 30 minutes after taking it. I was affected right away even though I didn't lay down all day after taking a Fosamax pill.

MY Doctor has osteoporosis and she recently diagnosed me with osteopenia. She said that Fosamax has caused many women to Loose their jaw bone! She told me not to take any of those drugs because they are basically all the same - ie Very dangerous .
They can cause you to loose your teeth and jaw and even long bones in the legs can snap from these drugs!! She recommended doing natural things that she said will strengthen bone and reverse my osteopenia. She uses a weight vest by NYK (they make them for women only)
