Are you taking Actonel? Fosamax (same class of med, a bisphisphonate), has been found to stay up to 10 years in one's system, even after coming off it. I'm not sure about Actonel, but chances are that it too probably stays around for quite a few years. If you are on Actonel, how long have you been taking it for? If you enable the private message function on this board, I can send you the name of a website where you can review other patients' comments on these meds.
So it seems that different Bisphosphonates stay in the body different periods of times~10 years vs 20 days?? It seems that the bisphosphonates that are given by IV infusion stay up to a year (or more) because yearly injections are recommended.
I don't want any medication staying in my system for 10 years unless it's going to be helpful.
