forteo side effects

I have been using Forteo for about a year and have had leg and ankle spams. I also had back surgery several months before starting to use Forteo. I was wondering if leg cramps is a side effect.

Re: forteo side effects

I've never had those side effects. What type of back surgery did you have? It sounds more like a result of back problems.

I am glad to have found this board where some people are actually talking about forteo! * link to commercial website, and related information, removed by hb-mod, moderator *

Re: forteo side effects

I completed the 2-year course of Forteo. I might have had 1-2 leg cramps during that time, but they could have been the result of other things too. Keep your legs and ankles stretched out and drink plenty of water.

Re: forteo side effects

I finished the 2 yr. of Forteo in March of this year. I have noticed a little hair loss...but my hair is very fine already.

Weight gain?? It'd be great to blame it on the Forteo...but I think I know the truth! Others here have mentioned an extra "spare-tire" forming...and again...wish I didn't have to take credit for puttin' it on all by myself!

I did notice my nails getting much stronger! They still look good...and when the following DEXA was done, there WAS improvement!........Pam

YES I also had bad cramps in lower legs. Went to 3 x a week dose---pain stopped. On for two years Some improvement in density, but not a lot. Worried cause first case of human sarcoma supposedly happened to someone on Forteo!

Re: forteo side effects

I posted under Forteo anyone re: side effects.. Mentioned heart irregularities, nausea, upper arm pain. Now you say a reported case of Sarcoma.? Does anyone know about how many people are on this drug? We who are using Forteo are probably being monitered for it's worth/side effects/cancer/etc. It's how new? 5-6 years maybe? I'm wondering what side effects you others are experiencing, any heart related? I hate this happening to me. Enough problems without adding more. S
