i'v had bone replace in my lower jaw bone due to implants

my Dr. has prescribed fosomax , is it safe to take this drug?

Did you mention to the doctor who prescribed you the Fosamax that you've had lower jaw bone problems? I would certainly check with your DENTIST, as well. Since you've already experienced lower jaw bone problems, I would certainly be hesitant about using a Bisphosphonate med of ANY KIND!!!!!!

do a search online for side effects of Bisphosphonates.

I checked with my dentist when bisphosphonates were recommended by my doctor and the dentist said that he would not work on my teeth/mouth if I was taking it. This is a very experienced dentist and he said it's too risky. It sure doesn't leave very many options for us.

NO! do not take fosomax - many women have LOST their jawbones and have even gotten bone cancer from that drug !! STAY away from that one it is BAD medicine

Maybe short term, even better not at all. I have erosive gastritis because I took Fosamax for 4 years.
