Hi skyview, welcome to the board
. You've had a rough couple of weeks, and there is really no simple answer to address the things that your are dealing with. What is DDD (degenerative disc disease)? Since you are going to see a specialist next week, maybe you could wait and see what he has to say before making any decisions. The pain you are experiencing and the dx of osteoporosis are 2 different things and will be treated differently . In the mean time try to get a copy of The Myth of Osteoporosis
by Gillian Sanson. Its a very informative book that will explain all aspects of osteo. Also, start writing down the questions you want to ask the specialist.
Not falling is the key to avoiding fractures and good body mechanics will can help with daily movement. Good balance it important and can be practiced. Exercise is important, but wait till you talk to the dr. so he can advise on what is safe with your osteo and other problems. Walking is good. Lastly, try to relax, and know that there are plenty of good people on this board who will be happy to help. take care...phyllis
