i was watching oprah one day and heard her say that caffeine causes bone loss and i believe this to be true...in 2000 i frequently drank a cola with caffeine..that same year i had a big drop in my t scores..after hearing oprah in 2001 i eliminated caffeine from my diet almost completely and the t score in my hips went down only slightly not even enough to change my the score...while the loss in my spine was greater it is was about 1/2 of what it had been the year i drank caffeine....i am continuing to avoid caffeine and urge any of you concerned about bone loss to do the same
I have to agree with you. I have one cup of coffee per day but I'm gradually tapering that off and will soon be no coffee (OHHHHH those withdrawal headaches.) I don't drink other beverages with caffeine so I hope it helps. From all I've read and heard research seems to support that it's better to avoid caffeine for better bone density.

Well I drink one cup a day, start with half a cup and keep adding hot water to it so it goes a longer way, it is the only caffenated drink I consume. But I'm hoping to be off by the end of summer.
