I have been using natural progesterone cream for about 6 months. Found out I had osteoporosis 10 months ago at age 53. At that time I made many lifestyle changes suggested in books I read about osteoporosis; I was scanned in April again (this time with a DEXA rather than a CT). The results showed that I had gone to osteopenia rather than osteoporosis in all areas, a notable improvement. I don't know what to attribute it to -- probably the all over program of diet, strength training, supplements, sun exposure, and maybe (!) the progesterone cream... It's hard to isolate out one thing when you have made many changes, and apparently there aren't any recent studies on progesterone cream. John Lee's books from the 80's highly recommend it. It is very mild and you can get it in the health food store without a prescription. MD's I've talked to say it's not helpful, but I am doing it anyway.
