My grandmother has been on oral dosages of Fosamax for 15+ years & has recently suffered esophageal damage from it. Her bone density has increased therefore it does work but she now must take her dosages through ivy. Depending upon your mothers age I would research the possibility of the ivy drip verses the pills.
