This is my first posting and I am quite impressed with HealthBoards.
I am a 62 year old female who was diagnosed with Osteoporosis/Osteopenia about nine years ago. I initially took Fosamax which caused GERD and then took Boniva injections. My last dexascan indiciated that my osteoporosis in my hip was worse but the osteoporosis in my spine was stabilized.
I began taking Forteo on 09-24-10. Within one week I began experiencing joint and muscle pain and low energy levels. I am physically fit (I exercise 4-5 days a week) and consider myself a relatively energetic individual. I lead an active life and am concerned about these symptoms. I discussed these with my physician and he stated that they are "side effects". I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if this eventually subsides. Thanks for considering a reply.
