Bones breaking - Help!

I am 58 years old with a -4.5 dexa. In the past year I have had 2 heel fractures, 2 toes, 2 ribs and a clavicle fracture. I have tried all osteoporosis meds, except reclast, without success. It is difficult to digest calcium. I need a miracle. Any ideas?

Did you use forteo? If so, any improvements?

I used forteo, but could not tolerate because of stomach upset.

Post Re: Bones breaking - Help!

The only one I could take was Reclast, and I did have some side effects from it, but that was back in August. I've had a broken wrist (radius & Ulna crushed), fractured T-12 vertebrae, recent double fusion on the lower lumbar, and I have Osteoporosis, so I had to go on something, and since I had tried the others, Reclast was my last option.

:wave Are you still experiencing fractures? I have not fallen, bones are just breaking spontaneously. Are you doing any type of exercise?

Post Re: Bones breaking - Help!

On the fractured T 12, I was just pulling something, and the Dr. said I shouldn't have fractured. My Orthopedic Dr. told me after my surgery in July that I have very soft bones. I need to be careful even when playing around with our dog, and that's not easy with an Australian Cattle Dog who is 70 lbs. I've been going to physical therapy where mostly I have massage, and light exercise.
