Is it possible to improve bone density w/out meds?

Is it possible to reverse Osteoporisis without meds? I would like to hear if anyone has been able to improve DEXA without ever taking Osteo meds.

Re: Is it possible to improve bone density w/out meds?

I think it is depending on each person's medical situation. My bone density was so low that there was no way without taking medicine. It's easier to prevent bone loss than to improve it once it's low.

I improved mine with strontium citrate, (a natural supplement), exercise, and the basic bone supplements of calcium, D3, magnesium, fish oil and a multivitamin. I also try to eat a healthy diet and stay active. take care...phyllis

I was also able to get my bone density up by weight bearing exercises, vit D 2,000 iu twice a day and strontium.

I no longer am worried about the scores.

Try to remember to go with your gut feelings.

Hi phylwill1152,
I am a newbi to this site so please excuse me if i make a mistake trying to reply to you.
I just wanted to thank you so much for your post as it will be quite useful to me. I am in my 60s and want to take natural supplements for my osteo. when ever possible.
If you would have the time to reply to me the name of the strontium company you use and how many m.g. you use. I would like to order online all so. If you choose to email me that's fine too.
Thanks again and wish you the best!
kaelin

Re: Is it possible to improve bone density w/out meds?

Hi kaelin, welcome to the board . I've been taking NSI Strontium for almost 5 years. I buy it online for a very reasonable price. The recommended dose is 2 caps for a total of 680 mg., taken together, but several hours a way from calcium supplements or high calcium foods. Most of us take ours at bedtime. If you have any questions please ask, we'll do our best to to answer them for you. Nice to meet you, take care...phyllis
