I went through a surgical meno in 1998, went through 10 years of hot flashes, fatigue, weight gain, etc. Then it all went away, what a happy day. It's back, and with a vengence. I thought it was my thyroid, lab test came back good. I am having a sleep study done in next few days. Is this REAL or is this something else and I am blaming menopause?

I went through a Hysterectomy in 1976, but they left my ovaries intact. I didn't start going through Menopause until I was in my 40's, which was 20 years ago. In my 40's I had hot flashes "every" 20 minutes all day and night. Couldn't take any HRT's because of cancer in my immediate family. I had some years in my 50's with No hot flashes at all. Then in my later 50's I started having hot flashes again. My Dr. said this was normal because of hormones still adjusting.
Now, I am 60 and still have hot flashes about 4 times a day, but I started using an over the counter natural help called 'Remifemin'. You can get it at Walmart or Walgreens. There are some other things that may help too, but I have found this one to be the best. It takes about 2 weeks to build in your system. I started taking 2 per day about 3 weeks ago and have only about one hotflash a day, and I hardly feel it. Helps with the mood swings too, and the night sweats. Talk to your Dr. first
