Good estrogen/bad estrogen

I was researching estrogen containing foods, and came across an article on estrogen levels. Apparently there is a urine test to determine the ratio of good estrogen to bad estrogen, and if the ratio isn't good, a woman can be at risk of cancer (breast, uterine, etc.) The remedy would be eating foods that block or weaken estrogen like cabbage, brussel sprouts, cauliflower, etc. and taking supplements containing the nutrients found in these foods which block estrogen.

I assume eating estrogen blocking foods wouldn't be good for bone density, but eating foods high in estrogen (like apples) might improve it.

Do we tip our diets in favor of not getting breast cancer or not getting osteoporosis?

BTW, there was a report on the news a few nights ago that Omega3 fats (fish) is good for bones.

Re: Good estrogen/bad estrogen

I just read an old post from osteoblast about this dilemma between high estrogen levels causing breast cancer, but not being good for bone density, so the posters here probably know all about it. I guess the answer is to balance our diet with estrogen and estrogen blocking containing foods so we don't tip the scales one way or the other, except in special situations where the focus should be placed on bone density or vice/versa.

To take this a little further, I guess sexual activity raises estrogen levels and increases breast cancer risk, but is good for bone density!
