I just got my latest BMD results and I thought I'd share. I've been taking Strontium for 3 years now:
Spine: -2.6 (last year -2.8) That is a 3.5% increase and the doctor actually admitted that it was **significant** ! Spine has had a 9.6% increase since I started Strontium 3 years ago.
Hip neck: -1.8 (last year -2.0)
Hip Total Mean: -1.2 (last year -1.3) 1.1% increase. Hip total mean has had a 7.8% increase since I started on Strontium.
I stopped taking Strontium about 5 weeks prior to the test.
So, I'm pretty happy. I really didn't exercise much last year, so I was scared to see my results. My urine NTX is down to 49 from 57 last year, but the doctor says it's still too high - she wants it in the 30's. My Vitamin D level was 39 which she says is good, but I'd like it higher. It was 38 last year. I always get it checked in the wintertime, though !
I started some new supplements in the past year: Lactoferrin, and something called Bone Booster Complex from Vitacost that has Vitamin K and Boron in it. I also started using a Fluoride-free toothpaste.
My doctor was very skeptical 3 years ago when I told her that I was going to start taking Strontium. Now she says that she has a handful of patients who are on it - she said that "some are doing well and some aren't". She has at least one patient who is getting the Strontium Ralenate from Canada.
At least she doesn't seem to think that I'm completely nuts anymore. And no mention from her during our appointment of my going back on a bisphosphonate !
So, I'm starting my fourth year on Strontium and hoping for better results next year. I'm going to get back to exercising this year, too.
What great news and what makes it even better is that you have shown your doctor that it works and that she is actually telling others about. Keep up the good work. take care...phyllis

I love seeing good results from Strontium. I've avoided taking anything other than eZorb for some time. I did try Fosamax for 15 months - fair bone results but very uncomfortable side effects. That was 5 years ago. My numbers are very bad (-4.5) and have been since base which was 9 years ago. I just had my first fracture (rib) and decided I'd try the Strontium. Does anyone know of someone taking the Strontium with eZorb? I simply do not absorb any other type of calcium. Also, I noticed, Phyllis that you take your Strontium at bed time. How long is that after you have taken calcium? While I haven't contributed much to this site I have been reading it for years and so appreciate all of you that tell your stories. It is so helpful to me!
Hi Razz, i take calcium in the AM and strontium at bedtime which is usually about 10-12 hours later. If i forget to take the calcium, as well as the rest of the AM supplements i skip the strontium for that day. The brand i use states you need at least 1000mg. of calcium a day while taking strontium. If you have questions just ask, we'll glad to help. take care...phyllis

Thank you for your speedy reply. As soon as I'm off the Ibuprofen, for the rib, I will begin taking the Strontium. I intend to be more active on this site from now on.
This statement jumped out at me. Does fluoride affect your bone density? I know it's good for your teeth. I have been using fluoride toothpaste AND fluoride rinse! Should I stop?
