Hi Hiker125, welcome to the board

. I like you name, i take it you're a hiker? My husb and and i hike whenever we can. There is another option you could try and see if it works for you. I've been taking strontium citrate for many years and have had no side effects and and have seen gains in my density with each DEXA.
What are your scores from the latest DEXA? There are a few thing to think about like, do you have a family history of osteo, have you ever broken a bone, are you physically active, do you take any meds or have any conditions that can cause bone loss? Also, low density doesn't mean you will break a bone, it means that your risk of it are higher than some one with "normal" density. Have you read
The Myth of Osteoporosis by Gillian Sansone? Its full of info about options, diet and exercise. Have you taken the FRAX test? Its a long list of questions that will give a better idea of your fracture risk. You can find it online. take care, phyllis
