| What test(s) shd I get?
I have some a few health issues that have been persisting causing extreme fatigue and exhaustion, to the point of dyfunction in everyday normal activities for 4 yrs. Two MDs i 've been seeing the past 3 yrs didn't bother to listen and do tests for hormones /adrenal, etc. I don't think the Vit d def has been causig this type of exhaustion where i simply can't lead a normal life...
Anyway, this yr's blood test I asked specifically insisted for a Vit D test in addition to other stuff that needed to be monitored. (it was discounted last and this yr). Horrified to find that i was "19" (normal 30-100+), I went to the library and borrowed a bunch of health books related to my symptoms. On a book on bones and health, there was a "risk checklist". I am wondering what tests I should ask for from here on.
A little about myself. I am Asian (risk), I don't do as much exercise (risk) as I should (due to the ongoing fatigue and exhaustion, I only walk when I can), I haven't had children (risk), I don't eat too much dairy/milk (lactose intolerant since college--risk). I added up the points and they give you suggestion of whether you are at risk or not.
I read that a blood test to measure for osteocalcin and procollagen I ext. peptides, a NTX test , and bone scan should be done. Which test(s) should I ask first before i request for a bone density scan, which I"m not sure if my insurance will cover b/c i'm only in my 30s.
