I went to my neurosurgeon monday and he said the only thing he can fix is my Ulnar nerves surgically. He wont fixed the bulging discs nor the hemangioma...gotta live with it!!??? well my pain management doc has me on Celebrex(400mg day)...neurontin(1900 day)....and Percocet (10/650 3xday) oh, and prozac.
The Neurosurgeon prescribed me a TENS UNIT .....I am not sure what that lil machine does...does it provide much relief and any advise on best ways to use it???
Thank you so much.
A TENS unit actually does provide some pretty significant releif to many people. The thing is, can you get your insurance company to cover it? That's usually the bigger battle.
If I can help you out with anything about it, please let me know. Before you get too excited about it though, I'd definately start trying to see if your insurance covers it. If it does, it's certainly worth a shot.
i have at tens unit.ive used it when the pain is very bad.it doesnt rid you of the pain but is more like a distraction.it is worth a try.if your insurance wont pay for it (mine wont) try renting one from a surgical supply store first.you may not find the relief warrants the price...good luck....scott
I have a TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulator) unit from my chiropractor. I have low back back due to spondylolisthesis as well as muscle spasms in my upper back and neck. I have found it to be helpful for the muscle spasms, but not for the low back pain.
Thanks so much for all the info... I took the prescription to a medical supply store and they ordered it for me.My insurance covers it 100%....military insurance. I sure hope I get some relief.
