Hobbies

Hi All,
I was just wondering what kind of Hobbies you all may have. Some times our world seems to revolve around pain, but there has to be times when we are doing something other than sitting on Ice packs or Hot packs and counting pills :-)

What takes your mind off of you pain? Even if only for a few minutes?

I Breed Doxies and Shih Tzu's taking care of tiny puppies gives me a little sence of usefullness. And I love puppy breath (yuck) :-)

Re: Hobbies

Oh breeding dogs, wow thats hard work. But puppies ohhhhhhhh i love puppies.
Well i love to read and i write poetry for my own sakes. Usually depending on what mood im in. I also keep a private journal and also a blog in which i try to write everyday or every other day.
Other than that, im usually sitting here at the computer or trying to do housework and the rest of my free time is taken in that i am my parents caretakers. From handling their finances to doctor appts to medicare appls. You name it i do it for them. I also do alot of research for a neice who lives with me. She is studying to be a pharmacist. My son also cohosts a christian tv show every sat so i help out with research from over here and also on their live streaming.
My main hobby is watching movies, hubby and i LOVE movies and cuddling on the sofa together. I dont have much time for anything else lol.
At one time my desire was to drive around to small towns and take black and white pictures of old abandoned bldgs and find the history behind it. Some were from 1898 and such. My health never permitted it tho. So that dream died. I also listed things on **** as a hobby, but i just dont have any time for that anymore.

Re: Hobbies

In my free time I play the bass and synth in 2 hardcore bands, I record my own and other peoples bands via a recording buisness I have on the side, and of course, I'm a HUGE computer/gaming nerd! I spend a lot of time with my wonderful girlfriend, we share a lot of the same intrests.. (she can kick my butt on some xbox games!) I'm 21, and with a lot of help from my girl, I lead a pretty normal (if a bit hermit like) life. I don't think I'd survive without her. She's always there to offer a smile, hug and laugh. (and snort.. when she really gets laughing).

Mostly, I'm into the local music scene, here in Baltimore. I've been in the bands that I'm in for about 3 years for one and 2 in the other. Music is my outlet and the best way I've found to keep me sane. The scene here is great, everyone knows everyone, so it's a pretty tight knit group. I spend a lot of time writing with and hanging out with my bandmates.

In reply to your post, smackliet, my dad does a little dog breeding as well, mostly boxers I think. He's more into rescue of them though. I think he's a member of some national rescue assocation.

I try to let my health affect as little as possible, although it still manages to control a lot in my life. I have my times that I put aside to take my meds, and take a breather to rest and lower pain. My problems are directly related to my lung, so a breather now and then is important! My girlfriend's great at reminding me to not get worked up about things, and that for the most part there isn't much I can do other than to go day by day. On my good days, with help from my meds and sanity thanks to my friends, girlfriend, and music, I'm able to forget that I have anything wrong. Those are days that make it worth living!

Re: Hobbies

My hobby or my passion I should say is one of the hardest for me now but I still pursue it. I love gardening and raising flowers. Just recently bought a Greenhouse and started raising my own plants...After six back surgeries, some things are harder to do now but I know my limits and have learnt to quit while I'm ahead. I also love selling on ****, it a great pasttime and love going to Garage Sales and Estate Auctions looking for collectibles to sell.
