vicodion - Pain Management Message Board

I have migranes, cluster headaches, fibromyalgia. My cluster headaches never go away, just better or worse per day. My dr switched me from perc to vicodin w/ibuprofen. I had not heard of this, just pain meds with tylenol. Has anyone taken this med? I haven't tried them yet as I still have some good ole percs to finish off.

Vicodin is a form of hydrocodone ,for some reason or other,myself,i don't like them,they upset my stomach,i prefere lortab with tylonol.[hydrocodone]

I guess I didn't explain very well, sorry. I have heard of vicidon but not with ibprofen in it. Have heard of meds with tylenol, but not ibuprofen. Is this new or just something I've not heard of.

One more quick question...I have been on Neurontin for about 2 years. I think it's a good med, also helps with my depression, but I gained about 30 pounds while taking it...one of the drawbacks. Today I am set to begin Topamax for pain treatment. I take this with pain meds but supposed to keep migranes, trigeminal, and clusters at bay. Not a real preventative but not allow them to become debilitating as some do. Anyway currently taking Tompamax for this?

Hi, I suffer from migraines and chronic daily cluster headaches. I would get 8 ch a day all 10's. I tried every preventative out there including topamax. I tried it at 200mg and then when I went to a ha/pain clinic they had me try it at 600mg. I was dumb as a door knob at 200mg and it did nothing for my ha. The only thing that helped my migraines was botox injections. I was on methadone for a year 10mg am and 10mg pm and it prevented my ch from occuring for that year. I then swiched over to the duragesic patch 50 mcg and was pain free and ha free for a year on that. I felt a directive from God to quit taking the patch because I was healed of my ha after much prayer. I quit taking it March and have been ha free since then. So 22weeks pain free! Yeehaa! So there is hope for you. You may go into complete remission or turn eposodic. I hope and pray that you find something that gives you relief soon. Have you tried oxygen to abort your ch? Have you tried verapamil(calan) and/or lithium? Lithium cut the number of my ha in half for 2 years then quit working for me. Also I tried taking percacet and vicadin without the tylanol in it so I could take higher dosages and it was like taking candy. It did nothing for the pain of ch. It might bring a 10 to a 8 or 9 and keep you from blowing your brains out but it really doesn't do much to reduce the pain overall. Do a google search and you will find an online support group for people who suffer from ch. good luck!
