Hi everyone

I was on Gabapentin for 2 months and was not having any luck with it I had a doctors appt. today and he said I hear the medication is not working for you,and we better talk about a way to manage your pain.He suggested that i start taking long acting medication with another for break though pain so he put me on Morphine sulfate sr 15mg 12 hr acting and Statex which is morphine also 5mg every 4-6 hrs when needed.He said come back in 2 weeks and if we need to up the dosage we will. I sure hope this helps...

Well this is a good start. Just so you know, you are on a generic MSContin, pretty low dose, with what sounds like MSIR for rescue. Also low dose. Don't be afraid to let the Dr. know if your pain overrides the meds. But I am glad you are on your way to some proper pain relief!

Is this the first time you've been on narcotics for your health problems Cindy? If so that is why he has you on the bottom line dose. I'm glad to see though that he has told you he'll increase them if need be. My dose of mscontin isn't much higher and I've been on it for a few years now but I still get relief and that's the main thing. Let us know how it's working for you.

Thanx for the heads up about the prune juice.Doc. already warned me,and I am prepared.I hope it doesnt make me dance too much...lol

Oh and Twisten it is my first time on narcotics so he is just being safe.We will see what happens in the next few days.
