I have a new surgeon appt with a real doctor!! - Pain Management Message Board

Yippe!! After a LONG night of next to no sleep and LOTS of research I called as soon as the place opened! The receptionist was nice, I gave her next to no info (just that I had a fusion in December and seem to be having problems still - hey, the dr's web site said he took on "troubled cases"). My appt is Monday the 23rd at 3:00!!

He is a Board certified ortho with a spine fellowshipe from Best Israel Spine Institute and part of North America Accademy of Spine Society and American Accad. of Orth Surgeons. He works at this center with 5 other doctors (all spinal specialists) and an onsite pain mgt specialist!

And they take my insurance. All they want to see is my MRI, XRAY and the op report! Yeah!!

Anyone have advice so I don't scare him away?? I am still seeing dr. devil tomorrow re: the W/C (to see if it is an issue or??) how to I deal with that with this mess???

I am so excited I finally got free from dr devil prison!!!!

Hi Michelle and everyone else, I hope you are pain-free today. Michelle...that is great about getting into see the surgeon, Kudos to you! As far as scaring him off, I don't think you will.....I think as long as you are honest with this Dr. you shouldn't have any problems. Just some advice, and I know this is probably very hard to do, but try not to bad mouth Dr. Devil (heehee, I love that nickname) to this Dr. It's important not to burn any bridges. I hope I was of some help, and again that's great news about seeing a new Dr. I hope and pray you are all pain-free.

Good Luck Michelle. I also get to go to a spine specialist for my first visit on may 26 i will pray for you and you can for me if you have any extra time...........again good luck girl

Hi Michelle...I'm glad you were able to get in to see someone who can most likely help you. Congratulations!! Now that you're away from the doc with horns, maybe you can get some good, quality care and help. I don't know about everyone else, but I some times wondering how some of these people stay in practice. Please let us know the results of you first visit and what the doctor had to say. You bet, you're in our prayers!
