I've been on Celebrex now for about 3 months. I didn't ask my family doctor about possible side-effects, etc. and thought it was safe, unlike Vioxx linked to heart attacks.
The first 2 1/2 months was fine. No side-effects, nadda. BUT, about 2 weeks ago while I was working out (doing cardio) at the end of my workout my pulse was racing 110 beats/minute for the next 30 minutes. Now, you need to know that my pulse at rest is between 40-46/minute. I know that your pulse can be higher after a workout but not for 30 minutes! So I took a xanax because I thought I was having an anxiety attack. Well, 1mg of xanax only helped about 50% so I had to take another 1mg of xanax to calm my system down. It was harder to breathe too I noticed.
So here's stupid me at my best. This same thing happens to me the next 2 times I worked out again. So, I took 2mg of xanax again.
Well thank God, a friend of mine told me that Celebrex was soon going to be marketed as a "black drug", meaning people can still take it but that they understand that Celebrex can cause high blood pressure, breathing problems, etc... Now look. I'm not a doctor but maybe someone on here can varify this information or add to what I have experienced.
I've been off Celebrex for 3 days now. I did my cardio workout yesterday and was fine afterwards. Strange, eh?
Can I sue Celebrex?
