Hi, I just have a very quick question. What schedule number is Ambien, the sleep medication.

Thanks for the info. I ask here since you are all so knowledgeable about the different medications.

I believe it is too. I know i have to sign the Schedule III book when I pick mine up. Same with Lunesta, though it is no where near as good of a drug.

Ambien is a schedule IV

As ARANGER stated, Ambien is a Schedule IV (4) medication. It is a NON-benzodiazepine (i.e., not related to Valium or Xanax or Ativan) hypnotic and is available in 5 mg and 10 mg tablets.

Also, there is a new sustained-release form of Ambien that is also a Schedule IV (4), but I do not know the strength.
