OK guys, i have got the verdict first hand. It is walgreens COMPANY POLICY to first weight their perscriptions, even class 2 narcotics. They said that they weigh first and THEN they hand count them for accuaracy. I phyiscally say them weighing my meds first and then hand count, so i know for a fact they do weigh! I hope this clears up any confusion, i just wanted u guys to know the 100% truth about this debate! later fellow cp'rs!

I must ave missed this discussion, The weight of a prescription has little to do with the active ingredeant. I also wouldn't take any pharmacict word as gospel. How many time have you been told a partial fill can't be done on a C-2 when in fact it can as long as it's completed within 72 hours.How many times has a pharmacist told you generics are the exact equal to the name brand product. I'm not sure why this "horse" has any less reason to lie than any other pharmy.Weiging in a pharmacy doesn't asure there will be 10 mgs of meth in a methadose tab, in fact a 10mg methadose tab is about twice the size and weight of a roxanne 10 mg tab. Can you point me to the directin of the post where weight of a pill was disccused. Do you know how little 5 mgs actualy is compared to what a 5 mg oxy IR tablet weighs, they use fillers, binders and and there is more in a pill than the active ingredient. Just curious what your talking about.

I've never heard of a pharmicist using weight to determine quantity prior to reading that post myself

Thanks fibbbles, Their talking about the automated script fillers, There very expensive machines used in very large volume pharmacies, they put the top 50 or 100 movers into the machine and the meds are auto dispensed by wieght. They have to calibrate it for each med and a pharmy should hopefully check it to make sure the right med went in the bottle if any at all.

If the wrong med/strength is entered or put in the wrong compartment when it's filled, it will dispense whatever it believes is in that particluar bin by weight.
Thanks, I was wondering what truth needed to be told.??? I generally don't trust pharmicist, These 100k machines allow pharmacict to do quick fills of frequently used meds.

I was just trying to clear some things up about weighing meds, thats all, cuz alot of people had some questions.
