When you changed over to palladone, your pcp didn't titrate you down from the fentanyl and on to the palladone? What mg. of palladone did he put you on?

The palladone was taken off the market because people were drinking alcohol with their med. This caused several deaths. I don't understand this "knee jerk" reaction, because there are other meds that will kill you if you drink too. The Avinza and Kadian are both extra slow release versions of morphine that alcohol will dissolve the coated beads causing a full release of the dose.

My thread about doctors not titrating meds properly kinda got changed over to fentanyl patch questions.

Carol,

They put me on the palladone thinking that my system was no longer getting the maximum of morphine through the patch due to tolerance. I can't remember the mg but talking with my wife, it was the third highest dosage. We knew that the main reason for pulling it was the individuals dieing due to alchohol consumption. I hope this helps. All I know is that I went through the worst 10 to 12hours of my life on that Palladone.
