Hi again my new friends.....

I had two "Transforaminal - thoracic epidural nerve root blocks"
to get the pain from my fractured / displaced ribs under control.
I had the procedure (my fourth) done 3 days ago and have been
having muscle spasms ever since. My PMD called in an Rx for Skelaxin.
I remember taking this med initially right after the accident.

Just wondering what your experiences are with this muscle relaxant.
I remember having headaches at first when I started taking it.
I am starting 800 mg. 2 x day.
(I also take 20 mg. Oxycontin 2 x day and 10 mg. Percocet for BT pain.)

Any advice would be appreciated.

Dolphin-
When I first started having back problems, the dr. prescribed Skelaxin for me and it did ok, but the main thing I remember was that it didn't make me feel really sleepy and tired like th Flexeril does which was a plus. I have 2 kids and didn't want to be all looped up on medications.

My husband has taken Skelaxin as well and doesn't benefit from it as much as I did. He does better with the Fexeril.

Try it and if it doesn't quite work for you, then let your doctor know. There are other alternatives out there. I hope your muscle spasms subside quickly.
