We are doing a adjustable plan right now, cause we havent found that right dose yet and today the nurse asked if I am using the Percs for BT pain , I said yes and the last few days have been terrible on me. She said after the next increase that they prolly wont do the BT med any longer cause with hope I will be at a dose that controls it. I am a bit worried Im all for finding the right dose but what about those days that a worse then a normal day that the only thing keeping me sane is the BT and having them in case.

Are you on LA med and a BT just in case. or as needed? Or is that only when they are trying to adjust the plan?

My PM Doc has me backward. I have 30 mg Roxicodone for bt and only a 100 mcg Fentanyl patch as my base med. The patch does nothing for me, so I am forced to lean on the Roxis for relief! It is a bad, bad way to do things.

I know how you feel Tia, I was really scared when my doc only filled my new prescription for 2 hydros 2 times per day....it was my safety net and since I had no relief from the 25mcg Fentanyl I was scared it would be the same with the 50 mcg....but to my amazement it wasn't!!!

I thought I would have that nagging feeling that I needed to take my BT meds since I had been on them for so long, but was really amazed that once the pain is treated adequately I don't have the urge to take them at all.

I'm still in the process of figuring out the dosing schedule because the patch isn't working for the full 72 hours but yesterday over the phone he told me to change them every 60 hours and see if it makes the difference.

I can understand taking it only when really really urgent but my Dr requires a 2-3 time frame if something is needed. So on a really bad day with nothing on stand by it would then be a 3 day wait or to the er everytime and that usually is a big ol bomb in itself they are so unhelpful.

Now Im really really hoping that we get this right. They had me take 30mgs of MS contin tonight and so far its not even touching it. Grrr. She told me to try this dose for a week or two then check in with her.

Frusterating navigating all the lines yah know?
