Soft tissue injections are to treat muscle pain like trigger point injections. They use a smal amount of numbing agent a little anti inflamatory and find the triger points and numb them, some docs beleive the action of needle into a muscle spasm is as benefiical as any med they could use. An epiduralis for swelling within the spinal cancal , the idea is to reduce swelling an decompress pinched nerves and relieve pain so you can continue with PT more comfortably. They have two sidticnct uses and yiou may not need trigger point injections or soft tissue injection. Sorry I don't know enough about your probelem to make a sugestion other than they are for completely different porblems although some docs give every back pain patients Epidural steroid injections and some docs like to do trigger point injections. ZIF you have a visable problem in an MRI or CT that shows inflamation or impingement, a soft tissue injection wouldn't doa thing for it where an ESI would be the tstandard of care. IF you have trigger points like with fibro or other myofacial pain, sot tissue or TP injections would be the treatment of choice.
