Question about Librium - Pain Management Message Board

Hey everyone,
I was wondering if any of you have ever taken Librium. If so was it helpful for sleep or wasnt it? My PM doc just prescibed it to me and am kinda wondering if it was any good and what were the side affects of it. Any imput would be helpful. I hope this note finds you all well and in good and in good spirits.

I took Librium years ago, as it's been around a long time. I found it very similar to Valium and as I remember, my doc gave it to me after surgery to help me relax. Yes, it does help make you drowsy.

Hi NSHatchh, It's an old bennzo that has many uses, Detox, sleep, stomach spasticity, anxiety, this tranqulizer is used for quite a few things . If you have taken Xanax or Valium or Ativan, it's not that much different other than not being a great muscle relaxer the way valium is.

Thanks dave and director i figured someone would know. I am taking valium but dr cut it in half and replaced the other half with Librium so i could get some rest at night. Thanks for responding!!!!! You both are always a big help. I appreciate it.

Just an FYI,but if i remember right,librium is one of those meds that has the propensity to interact with many different types of meds for some reason(i did research this med many years ago for use with my sons bi polar issues).i would just be a bit more cautious when adding any new meds to your list O meds.just fully check any med out before you actually take it,thats all.hope this works for you.Marcia
