Stenosis/arthritis for 10+ yrs. The pain in my back, buttocks and thighs has been awful for a LONG time and I mean AWFUL. The docs always ask if I have pain in my feet. For years the pain in my feet was no big deal but the last few months have been bad.... my heels have shooting pains when I bend a certain way and it's painful to even stand. Calves are painful now too. Crampy at times. I realize no one here is a neurosurgeon but what is this? Is it from my back? If so I wonder why it took so long to go to my feet because as stated above my other pain (buttocks, back, thighs) have been nasty for years. Dibilatating at times.

find a foot doctor in your area that is common for rh folks. A good podiatrist can refer you to use inserts in many cases your insurance company will pay for these, which can help with many feet issues and at least relieve some foot problems. These are not over the counter inserts but ones designed especialy for your specific issues, which a podiatrist can help with . Do not ignore it

Hey Jaffy-
Is it possible that you've developed heel spurs? Some of your pain & symptoms sound like it could be possible. I know this has got to be miserable for you.

My sister told my dad to get a can of vegetables and keep them beside his bed. She told him that when he got up in the mornings to set the can on its side on the floor and then put a foot on the can and slowly roll it back and forth for a few minutes and then do it with the other foot as well. His heels really hurt in the a.m. getting out of bed. She said it would help with the cramping & shooting pains he was getting. I know this doesn't sound like much, but it did help him. It may help you until you can get in with a foot specialist.

Also, for the leg/calf cramping, bananas are helpful. The potassium in them help with the leg cramps. I had to eat two every night before going to bed when I was pregnant to stave them off.
