what lyrica dose?

I was just wondering what kind of dose is average for lyrica? I know that everyone is different, however I was just wondering what a typical dose is. I am just starting it and my doctor started me on 75mg twice daily. It has not been much help so I am wondering if he will discontinue it next month or increase it to a dose that may work. Am I on a low dose and what is average and what is maximum?

Re: what lyrica dose?

Normal starting dose for an adult is 50 mg TID. Watch for stomach problems and upset.

Re: what lyrica dose?

I have been taking 100 mg. three times a day. Have been happy with the relief it has given me, but have had problems with weight gain which is a side effect....sigh..........

Re: what lyrica dose?

After doing a little research for you and logging onto Lyrica website, it seems the dosing runs 300-900 mg per day. It comes in 25, 50, 75, 100, 150, 200, 225, and 300 mg doses.

I hope this helps.

Re: what lyrica dose?

Thank you very much for taking your time to do some research for me. The only reason I am so interested is because my pm doctor has started me on 75mg twice daily of lyrica and so far It didn't seem to help much. I am just desparate for him to try a higher dose in hopes of getting some pain relief. He is one of those pain man. doctors that dosn't like to prescribe opiates. I have had three back surgeries with residual scar tissue and constant pain. I am just wondering if he will even prescribe me a higher dose of lyrica because the initial dose didn't help much. He is such a jerk that he probably won't even do that. Do you think there is a chance that a higher dose of lyrica will work better. I seem to have a high tolerance to any medications. Maybe they should just give me some horse tranquilizer.
