| Re: I had a accident and........
Hi Nu2, I hope it's nothing more than a flair up and it's kind of expected to some degree. The thing to be concerned about is if you go to the ER, Tell them you had a car accident they may test your blood or urine and you could be charged with DUI. It's pretty much spelled out in the contract I signed, but I think the contract covers worse case scenario and it msay not happen depending on the doc, when you go to the ER etc etc.. However I don't think it would be strange to hear they did do a UA or blood work and you were charged if you went to the ER right away.
You right, the ER isn't going to do much unless you really burt yourself, the kind of hurt where you don't pass go and get directly to the ER where they admit you. I would call you PM doc and explain some way of taking that kind of jolt if this is something more than your BT meds can handle. This is what they are for, when we have a flair or an increase in pain. If you have an increase in other symptoms of course it's more concerning neurologically to a doc or surgeon, but an increase in pain is what's expected and the Pm doc did give you the means to manage BT pain if he prescribes BT meds.
If you experence something more than you expect, then get the docs involved or go to the ER, but these are things to consider from a medical and legal point of veiw. Another thing to be aware of is, if anyone is opiate dependent and they show up in an ER unconscious, one of the first things they do is give you narcan just in case. So it's not a bad idea to carry something or wear a bracelet that tells of your med use. I have a medtronics card and my pump setting in my wallet. Others use medic allert or whatever is available, but it is important info if your injured and can't speak for yourself.
I hope you get over it quick, there is usually nothing wrong with adding an OTC antiinflamatory for short term use if you know your going to stiffen up after 24 hours.
Good luck, Dave
