Bad News - Pain Management Message Board

Hello,
I posted about my ordeal with work under the post "Suspended From Work Because of Pain Meds". Well today it hit critical mass. I have been terminated. First they drained me dry financially, emotionaly and physically for three months then they fire me! My family is insured thru me, we are going to loose all our benefits and everything! I don't feel like going into it now, you guys have been so supportive and understanding I felt I should let you know.

I am so sorry to hear that, I wish you the best. Please get legal help, and take advantage of anything that is possible. A legal coucil can advise you on what appropriate actions along with government help that are due you. Try to keep your chin up, because there is only one way to go now and that is up.

I am SO sorry this has happened to you. When you are feeling better, I can help you, Hubby and I lost our benefits a few months back and I've found a few different ways to get our meds without depleteing our bank account. I also have a new doctor who is treating me for chronic pain, even though I have NO insurance. Just holler when you want and I will go over what we have tried.
Please hold your head high, I know thats hard to do right now, but believe me, this will pass. There are lots of things you can try, in the meantime, dont give up hope. Please keep posting and let us know how you are doing.

Because of the "work issue" I quit taking my Kadian and am now taking Suboxone. Which works rather well. Honestly I feel as though it is more effective for my pain then the Kadian. Specificely the nerve pain. Go figure, maybe its just a placebo effect because I was realy hoping that it would work. But hey, I'll take what I can get. I am scared because my insurance will run out at the end of the month and the Suboxone is very expensive. It's aprox. $300 every two weeks! I do see my pain doctor before the end of the month and maybe he can write me for alot of pills and I can fill them while I have insurance, the pharmicist I go to actually recomended that. Hopfully I will get a new job soon that has decent coverage! I'm going to work on that now. Faby, that would be great if you have any suggestions for the meantime, I would really apreciate. For now I'm making as many doctor, dentist, eye visits, etc for my wife and I before the months end.
