New Pain Dr., Change from Cymbalta to ? - Pain Management Message Board

My new pain dr. feels Cymbalta is having a negative effect on my condition. He wants me to seek out a psychiatrist who can prescribe a more appropriate drug. (How wonderful- a dr. who doesn't know it all!) Has anyone made the change from Cymbalta to another antidepressant? Thanks,

I tried to change from cymbalta to wellbutrin and lamictal -I told my doc I was having some minor problems with depression and asked about my dosage soooooo weaned me off one and on to other-first attempt off cymbalta was dreadful, 3 days off and I was crying continuosly so we tried slower wean and I had same results - I think I did a little better on 2nd attempt but i was sort of waiting for it - I have never had big problems with depression so I was surprised by the reaction - Anyway I am now on 120mg of cymbalta and will stay there for a while good luck Aver
