Unhappy Please Give Me Some Advice!

Hello Everyone
I need some advice on what happened today-cuz its got me stressed and over thinking.
I am on oxycontin sr (80's and 20's) and I take 6 times/perday as directed and have been on pain meds for years now and w this pain specialist for atleast afew yrs so she knows me.My last appt she was very rude to me about lots of things for no reason, which she can be moody so I thought whatever,I wanted to go back to Ms contin but she said no (becuz oxycontin is more a bother 4 me now than any benefits...) so now 2day is almost a month fr when i saw her last and one of my oxy's were due (the 20's) and i was given a different amount than I have been given the past while fr pharmacy so I looked into it and the pharmacy said thats what was written on refills (so going from 240 tablets/month to 120 tablet per/month of 20's) so I questioned Dr. and explained what I was getting and what I have now? and the secretary says the way its written is what u are 2 get/take...than she calls back and says the Dr.has faxed to the pharmacy a 'urinalysis form" and must be done by monday at latest.SO right there i felt i am being blamed for something? and on the form I picked up it says "must be done my dec 10,not optional,if not done than meds will be decreased..) so I right away really think I am being blamed for something after reading that-each month I always ended up with extra of the 20's so atleast that part is good. But what do ppl think? She is the one writing the prescriptions and pharmacy fills them so why is it me feeling like I am being treated like I did somethng wrong or like I am a drug addict or something????? or am I just worried for nothing???? Plus I hope she remembers me not wanting to continue with the oxycontin anymore but now I am afraid of what this "urinalysis" test will say???? I hope I make sense here and I truly appreciate anyone taking the time to read and answer me about this.

Re: Please Give Me Some Advice!

Hey Jas,

I wouldn't say that you were worried for nothing, something definetly seems to be up with all of this. My problem, is that if your doctor has a problem or concern with you, she should be TALKING to you, not all this beating around the bush stuff. You have been there over two years. You deserve the respect of a conversation. I have only had to do one drug screen, and it was in the office, so I don't know anything about what they faxed to the pharmacy.

When is your next appt.? I would call and get in early if its going to be a while. You deserve to have a face to face talk with your doctor and know what is going on. I have seen some pm docs and mainly nurses play these games, and it's not fair, nor is it respectful of you. I wish you luck and keep us posted!

Amanda

Re: Please Give Me Some Advice!

Yeah, something is not right. Perhaps the doctor got burned by another patient, or for some other reason is feeling fear of the DEA. It is a shame you have to suffer for it. If you can hold out until your next appointment, I would do so and then ask the doctor what is going on.
