How do I go from oxycontin 120mg to morphine? - Pain Management Message Board

I am taking oxycontin 120 mg 3 x a day. I want to go back on Morphine but I'm not sure what mg to go to.

conversion would be 180Mg morphine 3xday

Thank you so much...I am new to this forum, but it looks to be very informative. Pardon me but..how did you find that conversion? I know there is a convertor out there..but I can't find it, and are you a physican? Is this
a true conversion to morphine? I'm sorry to be questionable.

I am not sure what the conversion would be like for some of the LA forms of morphine such as MS contin, Avinza, or Kadian but these would be good choices to discuss with your doctor instead of the SA forms of morphine. Oh yeah, glad to have you as a new member of the pain management forum

I am not a doctor--I just used a standard opiate conversion table--Oxycontin is a long actiing med, so you would also used a long acting formulation with morphine--there are several--most docs will start you out at a lower dose than equivalent to see how well you tolerate it. Good luck--whit
