Thanks Round1: I spent the better part of yesterday afternoon and evening in bed with my feet elevated. I think the diauretic is doing some good, but it seems the swelling will start rather quickly when I get up for a little bit. I am more than a little discouraged by this, because I can't spend every hour of every day sitting or laying down. I've got to be able to have some quality of life.

I am going to call my primary's office and ask to speak with his long time nurse or at least be transferred to her voice mail. She has become more of a personal nurse/assistant to him over the years and knows me pretty well. I just want to find out why I'm being told when I go in there, how serious and dangerous this BP elevation is, but then when I'm trying to get answers or want to inform them that I don't feel I'm getting better, I am being ignored! Or scolded!

My neighbor, who has the same primary as me, said that as soon as he was diagnosed with diabetes, his care was taken over, completely, by the primary. He couldn't understand why they have not done the same with me. And frankly, neither can I.

Thanks again for inquiring. I am so grateful to you and all the rest here, for caring so much about me. Please know that the feeling is mutual. I'm going to go hit the couch for a while, because just from sitting here at the computer, my feet are beginning to swell up. I'll keep you posted as much as I can.
