Has anyone taken tramadol? Any comman side affects?
Sedation, sickness, and last but not least, does it work for pain.

Tramadol works great for a lot of people. AKA Ultram. I personally can't even take a fraction of this med, it makes me violently ill. I can't stop vomitting whenI take it even in small doses. Same family as percocet. Same thing for me. Yes it works for pain, but it varies to the person taking it. It may be the best things since sliced bread and then it may not even take the edge off for you. You have to try it to really know.

I get the best pain relief from Vicodin, even in small doses. It just works best with my body chemistry.

I usually take vicodine but have tendency to get sick if I have to take it more than a few days in a row. Even with food, but it does help with the pain.

I took a Tramadol today to see if I could tolerate it better--1st one and it gave me a bit of an upset stomach and pain was'nt lessened much. So I guess I will have to deal with the vic. and make sure to have enough food on my stomach each dose.
At least I know what to expect with that. I hate having to take new med's.
I filled a script not long ago for a new pain patch and my stomach cramped up so bad after day 2. $55 dollars down the toilet, as dr didnt have samples.

I have tried it before, but it didn't do anything for me. I also had no side effects at all, no dizziness, no drowsiness...and no pain relief. Then again, I was in a great deal of pain & when I took percocet, that didn't help either.

I've been taking tramadol (50mg per day) for about 3 months now. As far as working for my back pain...it does a decent job. However, it does nothing for nerve pain. I find it takes just enough of the edge off to allow me to get to the gym for my daily workout. Initially, I did have some nausea...but I started taking it with food and the nausea went away. It does have a slight "upper" effect on me, but aside from that I have no other side effects from it. Unless of course, you want to talk about the withdrawal symptoms that can occur when you stop taking it. Now that's another story! The withdrawals from tramadol are nasty...just as bad as any other opiod. Wean off this drug very gradually...or you'll pay for it.
