I am not sure, but some of you may remember me. I have only two posts so far. I was asking questions about opiod tolerance. I just wanted to give a recent update on my medications.

As I mentioned in my last post, the dr. was trying me on methadone. I did not have very high hopes for it in the beginning because I was not getting any relief at all. Finally, after about three days, it started helping a little and by day five, it was doing pretty good. I did not have many side effects either. I was really worried about taking this because of all the hype that went with it. I thought it was going to make me do, see, and think all kinds of crazy stuff, but it didn't so that was good. The one side effect I did have from it just happens to be one that I can not handle at all. It made me so sleepy. I started on 10 mg 6 hrs, then dr. told me to go to 1-1/2 tablets which is 15 mg hr because it wasn't helping at all. Of course, the sleepiness got worse. I would fall asleep sitting up in my chair in front of computer while at work. Since the oxy products made it very difficult for me to urinate, that was out of the question.

For a long time, hydro worked great until I wore tha patch for three weeks, then my tolerance went up too. After that, even two Norco 10 would not help. Since hydro worked good earlier, he switched me to a compunded hydro 20 mg capsule with dextromethorphan. I think that is supposed to make hydro feel a little stronger. I really don't know. Anyone have any experience with this med?
