I am glad I thought to come over to look at this board...(usually on the back board). I have just asked my PM Dr. about the VA spine clinic, as well as about accupuncturers.
I am going to try the accupuncture 1st. My mother-in-law has a frozen SI joint (which is one of my worse pains) and she just went for her 1st session last week. She said that she really was able to feel the difference and the entire area felt really relaxed instead of tight and painful. Have both of you tried accupuncture before? If so, did you get relief?
IBAKE sees the head guy Dr. Schuler at VA Spine Institute. I also have another friend that has him and does nothing but rave about him. \
I have not tried accupuncture but am entertaining the idea. I know several people that have tried it and think it is very helpful in controlling their pain. The main thing they told me is that they hate is driving home afterwards. They feel that they end up getting tight sitting in traffic in this area. LOL.
Right now I just have to get thru these tests and am planning on asking my primary for a referral to this pain mgmt doctor as well as Dr. Schuler for second opinions. I will not have a 5th surgery without another opinion unless it is a medical emergency.
