Unhappy Crazy weather causing elevated pain lecels...Lots of pain

Hi everyone,

Well the weather here was unseasonably hot this past 7-10 days. Temps were in the high 80's and mid 90's.

Now yesterday and today we have a 20-30 degree difference in the high for the day. I think the high for today is supposed to be 55 degrees, with a chance of rain.

For the last few days I have been waking up in the middles of the night with bad pain and then hard to go back to sleep. It also has been really hard to pull the blankets up or roll over to get out of bed.

The pain when trying to get up out of bed in the morning has been really awfull. Burning over tha scapular area and into my arms. Burning pinching and stabbing in the neck when I move my head. I think that is what wakes me out of sleep.
I think staying in bed untill my Mom gets here today is a good idea. I can't believe the drastic change in temps. I used the airconditioner like 4 days ago and now the heater is back on...Crazy weather

It will be nice to go to the neuro tomorrow and here what he has to say. I am still nervous but will be glad to get on with it.

The quality of life I have just seems so diminished. I dont do anything but stay around my house. It is just not worth it sometimes to go out doing stuff. Other times it is like if it is for someones birthday or something. I feel like my friends are all moving forward with their lives and mine is on hold. I have had 4 people ask me if I am graduating the nursing program this year. I just answer no not yet. If they ask why I just say I have not entered the program yet. Some will ask further questions. I just get sad when I think about it.
I think I took going to work for granted. I would love to go back to work. Not just for the money but for the sense of feeling responsible and accountable.
Recently I gave up my service position as district chair for one of my 12 step groups. I just can't do it anymore. I have to much physical stuff to deal with.

Whe I get into elevated pain like today and yesterday, I start feeling a little down and sad. Sorry for rambling on and on about the same ol' things I always say.
I will feel better when Mom gets here.

Thanks for reading my rambles.
Chrissy

Chrissy, don't be sorry for venting. That's what we are here for. My pain gets a jump every time the weather changes too. Of course I live in Michigan where the weather changes all the time. I don't know why I stay here other than with my luck I would move to someplace worse.
Hang in there, better days are comming!

Re: Crazy weather causing elevated pain lecels...Lots of pain

I'm lucky(or unlucky) enough to live in WA where ther weather doesn't fluctuate too much. But, even here we had weather in the 80's a few days ago and now it's down in the 50's. It sucks when the weather changes. Just not good for people in pain.

I, too, want to go back to work just to feel like a useful human. I just found out that the program I was in last year and dropped out of. Well, actually I just failed my last quarter because my mom died. Anyway, I can't just retake the lst quarter...I have to retake the whole program!! Thank God for financial aid. I also hve to write a request to get financial aid again because I did not maintain satisfactory progress. My point...yes I'm getting there...is that I understand.
It's hard to go back to school even without chronic pain. But, when you don't know from one day to the next how bad you're going to feel....
Don't worry if it takes you longer to finish. Just keep plugging along but don't wear yourself out. I hope you have less pain soon. ~Mush

Chrissy,
so sorry for your pain. I can relate to you in this.
We have non-stop rain days after days. So windy, grey and wet... Definitely it affects body aches for me too.

Hopefully you will feel better soon!
Best wishes and blessings...

Re: Crazy weather causing elevated pain lecels...Lots of pain

Hey Chrissy, Just wanted to send you some healing thoughts and hugs. We are having the same fluctuating weather and my whole spine and my hips feel like they belong to a 95 year old.

Please don't hesitate to vent. We all go through the same ups and downs and post more about it when it's the down feelings. It's only natural when you have CP. So we all repeat some of the same feelings in our posts. It's just how we feel. So, you are not alone in that.

As I hope you know, I am here for you, for whatever I can do. (not a whole lot, given the cyber constraints) But I can send good thoughts and pray for you to feel better, both physically and emotionally. I hope tomorrow is a better day, in more ways than just the weather. God Bless, CMP/MM
