Emergency Meds for a sudden pain emergency

Chrissy's thread, where she said she was in so much pain it took her an hour to get out of bed to get her analgesics made me think.

From now on, my bedside table will always have, in the top draw, a bottle of water, and one dose of all my meds (LA Tramadol, Breakthrough APAP/Codeine, Ibuprofen and muscle relaxant)

I also have brought one of those nitroglycerin pill keyrings, it is a small steel tube that is attached to a key ring, and can take 2 of my breakthrough meds, and a valium... so whenever I am out of the house, I will always have a dose with me.

Did you change your name? I've wondered where you've been. Welcome back.

Re: Emergency Meds for a sudden pain emergency

got zapped for the ketamine thread

The idea about keeping some water and a dose of stuff in my bedside draw came to me as I read chrissies thread, because I have been in the same boat, wake in bad pain, but cant summon the intestinal fortitude to move out of bed and get your pain killers

Of course, i dont have any kids in the house, so its easy for me. Those eith kids would need to decant them into a childprood bottle

Re: Emergency Meds for a sudden pain emergency

You make a great point about children in the house.....Something we all need to be aware of. I have a safe in my house.

You probably don't see the same TV we do here in the U.S., but there is a public service announcement ad running here where it shows a drug dealer on a street corner and he says his business is slow....And he said that kids don't need him as much any more because they have access to meds @ home from parents. Then, the ad goes on to say for parents to make sure your meds are locked up @ home or "teens" can get unrestricted access to all sorts of meds. I think this is sooo true. For some reason, that ad has really stuck with me.

Regards,

Ex
