Transforminal Epidural Injections - Pain Management Message Board

For those of you who noticed I put two threads up today.
I have a transforminal epidural injection scheduled for July 9th & depending on how this one goes one in august. The PM kind of explained how this will be used as diagnostic testing, for c-6, 7, & T-1.
So what should I expect & now that I am working again could this interfer with my work. I know for that day pretty much to expect to do nothing, but what about the following days? I plan on bringing someone in to work to cover me but am not sure if I should have someone in for aday or two or more. Anything I should expect from this? I was not planning on having to worry about work so much but that has changed, so I thought I better be prepared. I would appreciate any advice from anyone who has went through this. Thanks everyone. Sammy when I have had injections, I have found that the day of the procedure I was okay but the next couple of days were rough for me. Sometimes 1-2 days other times up to 5 days. It really depends.

Are they going to be giving you sedation?

For anything other than trigger point inj. I plan on being down for at least 3 days. I usually try to schedule only on Friday so I have the weekend to recover. Some people are able to return to work/activities the next day, and I tried it the first time I had an epidural. I think I made it until about 8:30 (I come in at 6) before I went home. If you've had any kind of cortisone inj before you may be able to judge from that.

Yes pepper I will be sedated, I have already been warned about that.
I just have no clue what to expect. Dang with work now I have to plan.
If I am to understand correctly these are temporary. If I do get any relief how long could it last? I hate not knowing, but you all know how doctors appointments go, never enough time. Thanks Sammy

Sammy, I forgot, for me keeping ice on the injection site 20 min on, 20 min off for the first 3-4 days helps a LOT.
